WHAT I’M WORKING ON:
River City Food Tours
I founded River City Food Tours in 2015 with a simple mission: to show off Richmond’s awesome, varied food scene to both visitors and residents. Since then, we’ve grown into the top-rated tour business in Richmond on both TripAdvisor and Google, hosted over 6,000 guests to date, and won several awards, including:
Certificate of Excellence, TripAdvisor (2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018)
Culinary Tour Operator of the Year – Americas, Luxury Travel Guide (2018)
Best Local Tour, Richmond Magazine (2018)
Best Staycation Activity, Richmond Magazine (2018)
A strong presence online is crucial. When I started my first business, the funds to hire a professional web designer just weren’t there, so I taught myself how to build a website through a lot of trial and error.
Today, I create simple and beautiful websites for just about any industry or need. I work with WordPress, and teach my clients how to keep their sites up-to-date, so you won’t be stuck with an ongoing need. Nobody wants to pay a web designer just to swap a photo or change some text!
My past work includes this site, as well as the site for River City Food Tours.
Four years as an analyst at a Fortune 500 company + five years as an entrepreneur + one year as a mentor with the Greater Richmond Small Business Development Center have taught me a lot about growing businesses. I’m a believer in finding creative ways to make the customer’s journey as seamless as possible – from the moment their need arises all the way through the sale and beyond. Some call it marketing and others call it design thinking. I like to say we’re making it as easy as possible for people to give you money in return for value.
Let’s work together to find those solutions for your business, so that a long-term, steady stream of customers come your way.
One day in 2014, I was scrolling through Instagram and couldn’t help but think, “why aren’t my photos as good as these?” It turns out, it was because everyone was using a DSLRs while I was using an iPhone 4. But I didn’t know that at the time, and started to learn everything I could about taking better photos with a smartphone. There’s a lot more available to you than just the native camera app on your phone.
I’ve since dabbled with a mirrorless camera, and later a drone, but I’m still a big believer in getting the most out of the smallest package possible. And what’s smaller than using the camera you already have with you anyway? Click below for galleries, prints, and tutorials.
